Yvette English
ARTIST PROFILE
Yvette English is a multidisciplinary artist and writer whose work explores themes of self-discovery, resilience, and identity through words and paint. She began writing creative short stories in 1999, using narrative as a medium for introspection and empowerment. Her literary journey led to the publication of Dakota (2017), a novel that reflects the strength found in vulnerability and transformation. Alongside her writing, Yvette’s paintings evoke emotion through color, texture, and symbolism, bridging the visual and literary arts.
Born and raised in Manhattan, New York City, her creative vision is profoundly shaped by the rhythm of urban life and the depth of human experience. Now based in Philadelphia, PA, she continues to expand her artistic practice through storytelling and visual expression. In 2023, Yvette debuted her first solo exhibition at Urban Art Gallery, which sold out during its opening week.
